These little savoury shortbreads are concentrated flavour, the parmesan’s delivering a wonderful, savoury punch and the texture a pleasing crunch, with a buttery richness. There is an irresistible aroma as they come out of the oven.
They come from our kitchen in a long roll, wrapped in brown greaseproof paper, so you can keep in the fridge for a couple of days, slice and cook, as and when you want.
Lovely in themselves, they are the base of one of our most popular canapés.We use different herbs, wild berries, fruits and jewel-like flowers, changing through the seasons. Experiment yourself with a few leaves of herbs in season, such as lemon thyme, basil, tarragon.
We have shown them once cooked, in all their richness of colour and texture.
